We attended worship services this morning at Howard Univ - they have a special service each year the day before the Martin Luther King holiday. Crowds filled three large auditoriums, two with large-screen projections. Among several notables, the (recently controversial) Rev. Jeremiah Wright delivered a very inspiring sermon.
We met the renown physicist Dr. Byron Horton, who was born in Columbus County, and our old friend Irv Joiner, professor at NC Central Univ.
Saturday, we had dinner with the head of the S-CHIP program in California and we went shopping for long-johns, but (of course!) all were sold out. Tonight we'll attend one or more of the pre-inaugural balls. - Evelyn and Harold Troy
